XPRIZE is an ongoing series of competitions to encourage technological development to benefit the world. The xprize is a non-profit organization.
The most recognized winner so far was the Ansari XPRIZE spacecraft award in 2004. The First XPRIZE was inspired by Raymond Orteig in 1919 for the first flight non-stop between New York and Paris won by Charles Lindbergh. Many other XPRIZE efforts have followed including the Learning XPRIZE, in progress that dev4x is pursuing.
